Debut Winner and Dam for Sale

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday May 4
Talented two year-old Denman filly Faith's Encore scored a sparkling debut victory at Warwick Farm on Wednesday providing an immediate boost for her dam Faith Hill, who will be offered at the Inglis Broodmare Sale later this afternoon.

DenmanRetained to race by her breeders Don and Judy Kelly, the Peter and Paul Snowden trained filly had looked good in a recent barrier trial win at Randwick and brought her smart form to race day.

She did everything right for Kerrin McEvoy and dashed away at the finish to win the 1100 metre maiden by a couple of lengths.

"She's very immature and still learning, so she'll get a lot of satisfaction from this," said Paul Snowden.

"Don and Judy have enjoyed success previously with Group I winner Cosmic Endeavour, so it's lovely to win a race for them and have them in the stable.

"We'll see how she handles today and if she needs a break, she'll have one, but she's a lovely filly."

Faith's Encore is a three-quarter sister to juvenile stakes-winner Black Minx and is the fourth winner from Group II winning Danehill (USA) mare Faith Hill, who was bought by the Kelly's for $150,000 at the 2011 Inglis Australian Broodmare Sale.

Faith Hill has a weanling filly by Pierro and is offered in foal to Pierro asLot 751 by Crowningstone as agent.

Footnote: Faith Hill was sold for $100,000 - Inglis as agent.
