Outstanding galloper Kermadec has been retired to stand at Darley next season.
Kermadec won four of his 17 starts and more than $2.9 million in stakes in a career that included a win in the 2015 Group I Doncaster Mile (1600m) as a three-year-old.
Chris Waller prepared Kermadec to return at four to claim the Group I George Main Stakes (1600m) last spring while many believe the stallion was unlucky not to have won a third Group I when fourth in last year's Australian Guineas.
Kermadec finished third to English in the Group I All Aged Stakes (1400m) at Randwick at his final racetrack appearance.
Darley purchased Kermadec to stand alongside his sire Teofilo at the operation's Kelvinside property in the Hunter Valley.
"Kermadec was a horse of exceptional quality who was able to win a Group III (Carbine Club Stakes) on Derby day at Flemington on just his third start," Alastair Pulford, Darley's Australian head of sales, said in a statement.
"He went on to win two of the best Group I mile races in Australia with only the superstar Winx denying him a third win at the elite level in George Ryder last month."
Kermadec will begin his stud career at a service fee of $22,000 (including GST).
