A
stakes-winner at Royal Ascot for exciting Coolmore shuttler Zoffany (IRE) and
also his first winner when scoring in April last year, classy colt Washington
DC returned overnight at Dundalk to win the Listed Text Your Bets to Paddy
Power Stakes.
Prepared by Aidan O'Brien, Washington DC was having his first run for 2016 and
scored by two and a quarter lengths in the seven furlong event as a warm
favourite.
Entered for the Group I English and Irish 2,000 Guineas, Washington DC looks
set for a good season.
A 340,000 euro purchase from the Goffs Orby Sale, Washington DC is the first
winner for stakes-placed Shinko King mare How's She Cuttin'.
Further back it's the family of Group I winner and former leading sire Grand
Lodge and brilliant Australian Group II winning filly English, who runs today
in the Group I ATC TJ Smith Stakes.
Zoffany was hugely popular for Coolmore in Australia last spring covering 213
mares!
