A
homebred for Gerry Ryan's Limerick Lane, two year-old Charge Forward filly
Ariaz scored a brilliant debut win at Sandown on Easter Monday providing a
timely pedigree update for her yearling half-sister headed to Inglis Easter
next week.
Prepared by Robbie Griffiths, Ariaz settled at the rear from her wide gate for
Ryan Maloney after being slowly away and charged to the line to win the
1000 metre scamper by two lengths in a tick over 57 seconds.
"I can see her winning a lot better races than this," said Maloney.
Retained to race, Ariaz is the first foal of handy metro winning Fastnet Rock
mare Zaira, a half-sister to Group III winner Elusive Touch from Group III
winner Shelbourne Lass.
Glastonbury Farms as agent will offer the current yearling from Zaira, a grey
filly (pictured) by Medaglia D'Oro (USA) as Lot 150 at Inglis Easter next week.
