Two
Aussie-breds saluted in South Africa on Friday with Princess Varunya scoring at
Greyville and Jam Tart successful at Fairview.
Three year-old High Chaparral (IRE) filly Princess Varunya beat older mares to
win over 1900 metres, her second win in seven starts with four minor placings.
Trained by Kumaran Naioo, she was a $35,000 Inglis Premier purchase for
Heritage Bloodstock from the draft of Emirates Park.
She is one of three winners from stakes-placed Groom Dancer mare Bruges.
Four year-old Duke of Marmalade (IRE) mare Jam Tart broke her maiden over 1600
metres for the Alan Greef stable and was a $60,000 Inglis Premier purchase from
the Tyreel Stud draft.
She is the first winner for well-bred Galileo (IRE) mare Majestic Girl, a
half-sister to the dam of stakes-winners Don't Doubt Mamma and Risen From
Doubt.
Majestic Girl has a yearling colt by Redoute's Choice.
