The Kelly family of Newhaven Park have been breeding top class thoroughbreds for nearly 100 years on their family owned farm at Boorowa in south western NSW with top class juvenile filly English the latest flagbearer for this historic stud.
A third generation Newhaven Park bred, Encosta de Lago filly English (picture Steve Hart) was gallant in defeat when second in the Group I ATC Golden Slipper behind her Gai Waterhouse trained stablemate Vancouver and will get her chance to atone this Saturday.
The Group I ATC Sires Produce Stakes will feature a stellar field minus Vancouver, so English will have a great chance to post her first Group I win given the tremendous record her trainer has in this race with horses coming out of the Golden Slipper.
Newhaven Park will present 20 lovely youngsters at Inglis Easter and the following entries all have significant pedigree updates, so let's go through them. Click here for the full draft.
