VOBIS is short for Victorian Owner Breeder Incentive Scheme. This scheme was implemented in Victoria in 1985 and was the only one of its kind in Australia. Its initial objective was to encourage investment in the Victorian breeding industry and has since grown into much more.
Super VOBIS:

Super VOBIS is a world leading incentive scheme designed to reward owners and breeders who invest in Victorian bloodstock. With more than $18 million in bonuses available for Super VOBIS and VOBIS Gold qualified horses, connections have the chance to increase their hip pocket and maximise market interest in Victorian bred horses.
To help ensure an immediate return on investment for owners, a majority of Super VOBIS bonus races are targeted at TAB country race meetings for two and three-year-old horses with bonuses of up to $10,000 available. There are also VOBIS bonuses up to $30,000 available to horses competing on Victoria's metropolitan tracks.
VOBIS Gold:
VOBIS Gold will be just as important as Super VOBIS in the near future, as it gives trainers and owners extra bonus money to chase and more race options to consider - Jeff OConnor, Racing Manager for Peter Moody.
Introduced in 2012, VOBIS Gold is a multimillion dollar program to complement the Super VOBIS Scheme and unlike most owners incentive schemes VOBIS Gold is not just for early maturing two and three year olds.

An additional $20,000 bonuses on up to 350 races across Victoria
The ability to compete in the VOBIS GOLD Premier Race Series exclusively for VOBIS Gold qualified horses.
Opportunities for late maturing VOBIS Gold qualified horses to compete for bonuses into the fourth, fifth and even sixth year of the horses racing career.
