Education

After completing her veterinary studies at Murdoch University, Western Australia, with honours, Dr Jackson worked as an equine veterinarian at Oakford Equine Hospital. Oakford treats a wide variety of equine veterinary cases, allowing Dr Jackson to gain a broad knowledge of equine veterinary medicine and surgery.

In June 2012 she became one of only 14 veterinarians across Australia and New Zealand to achieve Australia’s highest qualification in equine dentistry; her membership via examination to the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in Equine Dentistry.

Dr Jackson is passionate about equine dentistry. She has completed numerous courses in specialised horse dentistry. Combined with her equine veterinary knowledge and experience, Dr Jackson has the skills to ensure that your horse reaches its full potential, free from oral discomfort.

Dr Jackson has used her experience in equine dentistry and health to teach Murdoch University veterinary students second-year equine management, and in tutoring the fourth-year equine dentistry class. She has also lectured the Murdoch veterinary students in their ‘Veterinary Professional Life’ unit and tutored the Murdoch Veterinary School’s Equine Interest Group in equine dentistry.

She is passionate about educating horse owners on the importance of equine dentistry and has also lectured on equine dentistry at Polytechnic West Equine Training Centre (formerly TAFE) as well as numerous Pony Clubs and Adult Riding. Additionally, she was the WA state representative for the Equine Veterinarians Australia (EVA) young members’ group and has also coached horse riding at Walliston Pony Club for many years.
