Consultations on properties are an essential part of equine practice. ABEC provides a continual on farm service to horses that require attention and are unable to attend the clinic. Numerous horses are visited each year for lacerations, colics, foalings and other procedures in the field.
At Agnes Banks we perform all types of surgery, from colic surgery through to upper respiratory tract surgery and arthroscopy. Agnes Banks Equine Clinic - SurgeryAgnes Banks Equine Clinic have two resident surgeons including a Registered Specialist in Equine Surgery, and access to visiting specialists in surgery and ophthalmology.
The clinic operates 6 ultrasound machines; one large state of the art digital machine, a small portable digital machine and 4 portable reproduction Agnes Banks Equine Clinic - Imaging scanners. The clinic has 2 portable digital x ray machines which have excellent image quality of limbs in particular. In the hospital, an overhead mounted CR machine allows imaging of difficult areas, including head, chest and abdomen.
We provide a specialised internal medicine service for the investigation and treatment of a number of equine medical problems including foal diseases and critical care. The service is led by Dr Laura Lee, who is a recognised equine medicine specialist and boarded with the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine.
